Craig S Snyder
Craig is based in the Rochester, New York area and is well-known as a teacher, performer, composer, arranger, and advocate of guitar craft. His current teaching positions include Finger Lakes Community College and the Hochstein School of Music and Dance. At both schools Craig teaches private guitar and bass guitar lessons and directs guitar-dominated ensembles. During a thirty year professional career he has performed in many situations ranging from solo jazz guitar to holding down the guitar duties in the pit band with a 125 piece vocal group. In addition to performing as the top bill on hundreds of shows Craig and his Fusion Group have opened shows for: Mike Stern, Leni Stern, Tribal Tech, Chris Poland, Frank Gambale, and Joe Stump.
In July 2010 and July 2011 Craig was selected as the guitar faculty at the prestigious Eastern United States Music Camp held on the campus of Colgate University. This international summer music program includes guitar students from France, England, Mexico, Columbia, and Korea. Students participated in workshops, ensembles, and private instruction, which Craig designed and implemented the material for. Teaching the next generation of players and passing on the love of music and the positive effect on the world is Craig's passion and lifelong endeavor.
